Breckenridge...

Dogs are allowed in the gondola here, but we got out at the wrong stop. Phoenix wasn't too keen to get back in. Hand carried.

Zoe was liking it.

Roman, not so sure.

As I posted on Facebook, the Hills are Alive, with  sound of Whining...This was a tougher hike than the others we'd done. Big inclines (I guess what you should expect on a ski slope, eh??)

Phoenix loved it.

We had some lunch outside

Someone say beer?

Chilly?

Not too far up we could hear thunder moving in, so we turned around.
Didn't quite make it in time. We all got soaked.

And had to ride the bus down.

Tried to keep a smile on our face.

And it cleared up pretty quickly. We visited the Breckenridge dog park so Phoenix could run free!

Frisco views

In and around Silverthorne,CO

The blue, blue sky and those clouds. Love it.

Did someone say beer on the deck?

With steak?

They were mimicking the hummingbirds next door...

....and pretty surprised at how close they were

It was nice to have this little trail right outside our back door.

First one up gets to take Phoenix our for her morning walk.

Which means photos of leaves, sun...

...and views. Although to be fair I think this one was by Mike. The Dillon reservoir is down the hill.

Lily Pad Trail, Day of the Solar Eclipse

Between Silverthorne and Frisco. We approached from the Silverthorne side...pretty close to where we were staying.

It wasn't a total eclipse, but it was more than home and the skies were clear.

And my phone doesn't take good eclipse photos.

Are we there yet?

Stopped outside of Omaha to see Rob, Kristen and Kaitlyn (what a cutie!).

It has been a long day. I got up at 5 after sleeping 6 hours. Ready to stop for the day, but these last 100 miles of the day are taking forever.
The kids could be doing much worse...the promise of a pool helps. I think for Mike and I the promise of a beer might help.

Lunch stop in Stuart, IA

I was flabbergasted when I saw Roman on the Diet Coke but when Wesley was right behind it I was floored!

Or then again...

Forgot the fancy schmancy dog's water bottle  (for our walks).

And we are off!
