Turtle Power

Earlier this summer we took a trip to MOA to visit Dad's decorations for the summer of turtles promotion at the mall.
Happy faces.

And some less so.
This summer has been a blur, but I guess that's what you get when you decide to move in early May, get the house on the market early June (?), sell it within 4 days and find the one you want within 2 more. Don't forget to go to London for a week before you move as well. And get sick for that same week and the week that you move. Yeah, I guess it's been a whirlwind.

But we're on the road to stabilization.

Marble, our very own turtle, has found a new home.

Where we can visit him.

And we love our Dad!

:)

Quiet

In our backyard, an hour ago or so:

Last night we had our windows open.
It was quiet.
I heard a noise.
Mike heard a noise.
He walked to a window, looked into the woods and remarked that he could see lights from a house on the other side of the trees. He paused and turned his head so his ear was near the screen.
"Someone has a baby."
No buses whizzing past, no loud cars or motorcycles. No bass thumping from the trunk. Just a baby. I can take that.

A top tooth.

Wonder if the brother is going to catch up?:

We have moved!

And have internet service again.
So, for the record we are in our new (bigger) house in a (nicer) location that is less sound intensive. No thumping bass. No gun shots that wake us up in the middle of the night (no kidding). The night before we left (that would be Tuesday) Mike heard and I was awoken by gunfire. Mike found an article online that said the cops found at least 18 shell casing.
At least.
Confirmation that this was the right decision, and help to alleviate any nostalgia for the house where we raised our kids until almost age 6.
