Speculation

In the last month Roman keeps telling me "When I get big I'm going to live close to you and Dad."
I asked him why and he gave the right answer. Because he loves us and wants to visit us all the time. I'll put that one in the back pocket for the times when I don't get that impression from him!

After hearing this Zoe chimed in that she's going to live next to Roman.

We've had many iterations of speculative future. At one point Roman was going to have a bunch of kids and bring them over to Zoe's house so she could watch them. Maybe we need to start interviewing them again and see what's in the stars.

And then...

....they were 4.75, the age of buying a Groupon and bringing them in for 'real' photos.

Don't know why i waited so long to go back.
-
Crazy - just - keep - my - head - above - water - era?
Yes.

New lesson: if you're the parent of a small child, bite the bullet and get pictures taken. You can't get this time back.

More photos to follow.

School's Out....

for summer!
with 2 of your teachers, including Miss Fehr on the left.

Brookfield Zoo

Aunt Shannon getting Zoe ready for a visit to Brookfield Zoo in the Chicago area.
Aunt Mandy listens to one of Zo's stories.

At the Zoo with Shannon, Mandy and Jared.

Giraffes.

"Jared is funny"

And much taller than you!

Although just about everyone is taller than you.
Except your sibling.

This guy looked like a statue, until he moved.

Your Dad couldn't wait to bring you here.
He loved the place when he was a kid.
We have some shots of architectural details, but I took this one.
Pachyderms in an art deco font. Nice.

Monkeys! This place was really crowded, so you both got to ride on shoulders!

Lucky you!

We got lucky and saw one of the peacocks showing his feathers. Kind of hard to see, but I got Zoe to stand in front of it. She's been somewhat enamored with them for awhile. Well since she found a beanie baby version at a thrift shop. It's BEAUTIFUL and she likes BEAUTIFUL things.
It was pretty cool to see these out in the open, just wandering around. The first one we saw was outside a bathroom. This was more picturesque!

Dolphin show.
All 4 dolphins were pregnant!
Oh my.

The  swamp.

And as we were nearing the end of our day, yet another peacock putting on a show. Nicely placed between the two lions. Did they pay him to do that?!
Can't wait to go back!

Road Trip!

All aboard the Magic School Bus!

Who's driving?

That's up for debate.

Have little ones?
In the Sheboygan area?

Interactive Gardens, with book themed vignettes.

Magical.

Daddy is pointing out something interesting.

 a bat!

How many bears?

We tried out papa bear's chair. Just right ;)

A little raking in the tea garden.

Mr. McGregor's shed.

Don't get locked in like Peter Rabbit!

Make way...

....for ducklings!

And koi.

And it's after midnight, so I forget the name of this dog - but your Dad knew right away.

There were some brushes out so the kids could clean up the dog.
Good job.

And a dinosaur dig.
And this concludes our tour!

Plymouth, WI

Opportunities to walk down different paths.

Look into different streams.

And pose in front of huge cow statues.
What could be better??!!
