Sunset

4 no more.
Wow. Appreciate your kids at every age.
Always easier to say than do, but still.

Michigan - U.P. some more

Just outside the cabin we rented.

south of Copper Harbor, MI

Lots o' rocks.

and knee high socks

"turtle eggs" or so we were told by two little ones.

Imagination and frivolity are key.

And a beautiful location doesn't hurt.

Throwing rocks at sunset. What could be better?

Wish I was here

Michigan - Jacob's Falls

Jacob's Falls.
Near the Jampot.
A kindly woman asked if we wanted a family picture "mom's are never in the pictures".

Snowmometer

C-r-a-z-y amounts of snow in the U.P.

RAHR

This was in the lobby of the hotel we stayed at on our trip.
Two separate times.

We talked a lot about wild animals since there actually WERE wild animals there.
Not that we saw any beyond our hotel lobby, but still.

C is for Cookie

And it's good enough for me.

from the Jampot.

But thou shalt enjoy a baked good or some jam.
(even after you fall down on the gravel, scrape your knee and scream that you can't walk...note the leg position on Ms. Zoe)

Wow.

Our first overnight in the U.P. of Michigan was in a tiny place called Silver City.

Near the entrance to the Porcupine Mountains.

On "the lake"

Which we enjoyed.

Immensely.

Walking barefoot in the sand.

Posing.

Pointing.

Feeling the smooth rocks on our feet.

Hats.
She loves this hat.

And her buddy.

Dad and I took turns with the camera.

Zoe started to draw a little.
One of her favorite activities.

Taking turns with the camera, I said.

And the sun was going down.

Did I mention we saw...

...a mermaid?
Or that is what this speck in the distance became.

We watched and watched.

And watched some more.

She didn't come any closer.

Not one bit.

But that's okay, there was plenty to explore on the beach.
