Your Dad is Awesome

Not only do you have fancy schmancy beds, but your Dad went thru the effort of creating some graphics to put on those beds.  I suppose it's nice to have an "in" with someone who can print them...

Always the little helpers...

So now the car is more accurately adorned...

You'd think this would make bed time easier (or at least that was Daddy's sell: "They'll WANT to go to bed"). Well, yeah, sort of. But it's often not to relax of sleep. No, more of the chaotic variety. But you ARE two.

And the castle bed is full of some characters known to you...

Or purport to be...

You can't see it, but there's a Belle and a Rapunzel on the headboard. Or there WERE. One night Zoe decided to take them off. d'oh! Reminds me of the Hüsker Dü song "Dead Set on Destruction".

Setting the scene...

for your 2nd birthday party!

Miss Kitty came over to assist with the decoration of the important celebratory food: cake!

First some cupcakes decorated like the aliens in Toy Story

And a sheet cake just in case...

And doubly in case ANOTHER cake, fitting with your adventures of this summer: dirt and worm(ies). Complete with red wagon on top! Nice job Dad and Kitty!

Your dad spent some time creating a really nice "Happy Birthday" banner for you too, complete with all your favorite Toy Story characters.

And Grandma Candy provided the supersized cardboard cutouts we used to decorate the garage - good thing your birthday is in September or we wouldn't get to have more than a few people over at one time!

More pictures, and hopefully some video to follow. After having a week off and spending the time on some great adventures (away from home and at home), I'm WAY backlogged on posts. That's okay, just means we don't have to do anything exciting for awhile. Although I should report on milestones. Roman: repeating everything. Zoe: smart cookie too - she spilled her cheerios this morning in the living room and went to the kitchen to get the broom to sweep them up. Atta girl!

Wonderpets are we

Guess who got to dress up as the Wonderpets?

You got it.
Maple Grove does a kids parade as part of their city festival. We went last year and decided this could be fun.

Your dad created the Wonderpets "flyboat" from your little red wagon.
Complete with sail and thrusters (??) on the back.

We even have a little girl come over and check out the flyboat. Her dad said it was one of her favorite shows (mixed in with George and Dora). Sounds familiar. Well except the Dora part. (No cable for you! Thank God for PBS)

Mom made you some capes, you have to have the cape!

Katie helped out - here she is with Zoe and her Mom checking out the action at the puppet show after the parade.

Katie, sweetheart that she is, gave her blue cape to the little girl who visited us. I promised her a replacement (which I've yet to make good on!).

Kitty, Becca, Calvin, Jack and Frankie joined us too.

It was a hot night (and about the time I started to re-think the going out routine), but it was fun.

Dining Office Bedroom

Um, excuse me Mom. I'm new to the English language and all but I don't think that's a legitimate room description.

After some discussion about remodeling, adding on or doing nothing your Dad took action.

Our "3rd bedroom" (reallly?!) is now the Dining Office Bedroom. Mostly the Dining room but it can easily act as an office (table=desk) or bedroom (fold down that table and haul up the twin bed)...

We can eat together, which is awesome.
We can listen to tunes together. Ding Ding.

Roman and Dad can compare notes on what happened that day.
Note: the "curtain" is just the fabric that I am going to learn to make into a valance. With all my free time.

Zoe can just grin.

Rozo mobile

Daddy's been doing some freelance work (my that sounds...romantic, doesn't it? The roving artist). One such outlet is with a previous sign employer. They're getting into vehicle wraps. Daddy does the design work and just loaded some special software with car outlines for properly designing to the size. He mocked up a version for my car.

Although not really. Spendy stuff.
