Pony, er...Lamb rides

Okay, a new prop. A little Easter lamb. Of course last year it was a prop as well - for a costume party your mom and dad went to. Little Bo Peep? That's a good guess, but no. Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lector. There's a movie you won't be watching for awhile!

Funny, Roman is ALREADY trying to eat the lamb. He's very much liking the food we're starting to give him. More please!
I must say we'd finally gotten into the groove of the bottle and now we have to switch it up yet again..

To be fair, Miss Zoe had the same reaction.

More practice photos

When I look at this picture I think "Zoe's practicing for her high school senior portrait"

When I look at this one I smile.

Caption me! (Zoe)

Mmmm....food (Roman)

Hey Mikey, he likes it! :)

Happy boy!

Mmmm....food (Zoe)

Zoe decided the thumb was better (although she did move it out of the way when the spoon came around - pretty good considering she's never used a spoon before).

And we celebrated the 1/2 birthday with...

Rice cereal!

More to come.

Feeding time at the...Zoo?

As much as we enjoy watching you drink your bottles with gusto (Roman roles his eyes back and makes approving sounds, Zoe is more matter of fact about the business), it's time to move onward..

Double Yolk Milestone! One Half Year!

Well, we made it to 6 months! It is amazing how things have changed since you two have arrived. From being afraid of bringing you out of the nursery (in the first weeks of having you home) to letting you roll all over the living room floor! Now that the weather is getting nice, our world is getting even bigger. Outdoors we go! There are so many things to do, all of them new for you two, I started to keep a journal (Thanks Auntie Kitty) to keep a check list. So lets get to doing those things - 6 at a time!

Outgrowing the bouncy seat

When I went out with the kids to g & g's house on Wednesday I had the occasion to put Roman in the bouncy seat we had here at home the first several weeks of their life. I traded up for a bigger one when we thought he was better off sleeping more upright in his chair. We've had the bigger one for some time.
Well now when Roman goes in the bouncy chair his feet, well they stick out just a bit. I don't think these pictures do it justice.

And to think at one point I could get both of them in it side by side!
Oh my gosh you two look SO different!

My little blogger

Because he stays up later, Mr. Roman gets to do is help out around the house, you know, blogging and such.

Huh. There will be a day when you two are submitting posts to the blog.

Sleeping or not

Roman generally stays up later than his sister. The 7'oclock hour is Zoe's time to get sleepy. The 8 o'clock hour is Roman's hour.

What that has to do with this pictures: nothing. Just making text. Although looking at Zoe above reminds me to remind myself that she likes to sleep like this- arms extended. Used to be straight up, now it's also to the side. And I'll never forget waking up one night shortly after both our babies! (I should register that one- our babies!) were home from the hospital to find your daddy sleeping the same way - arms up. I bet I've told that story once or twice before. Well, you better get used to it. Stories repeat.

I often think about how fragile you were, and how scared we were too. Mixed in with the joy was a little bit of fear when the nurses told us you two were getting ready to come home. I was just getting comfortable with the hospital thing and BAM! you can take these fragile beings home.

Feels like forever ago.

I am SO thankful for you two.
I can't believe how lucky we are to have you in our life.

Thanks Easter Bunny! (Grandma Candy)

Grandma Candy had the day off and stopped by to spend some of it with her grandkids.

This is what I found when I got home from work tonight.

Ah yes, there will be more to come.

Today

Okay, mama's done with winter. I'm ready for spring. I'm ready to get out of the house. I'm ready to put you in the stroller and go outside.
Enough already!
