Dance Recital 2017

Chalkboard Capers

The annual variety show put on by District Teachers as a scholarship fundraiser is always a favorite. We all enjoyed the Mascot Monday's video. Every Monday Zoe's class does a one page writing exercise called "Have I got news for you!" . She tells about her weekend.

That week included a retelling of going to that show, and one of her favorite parts was the video that included her principal dressed up as a Turtle (i.e. mascot). She drew the picture above. Her teacher scanned it, blew it up and gave it to the principal.  He hung it in his office!

Minneola State Park.

The bison were resting.
Oh well.

And then a stop at Mankato Brewing.

Nice initials.

Kids occupied with Root Beer and pop corn.

Sugary popcorn.
Thought I'd look at how much sugar was in the drink.
Wow. Yeah. But we didn't care. We were outside, enjoying a beer.
With our initials on it.

Any pet in the world?

When Zoe asked what pet I'd want if I could have any pet i the world, I had to think. Not sure. Do I have to feed it? Clean up it's poop? No. and No. Hmmmm. Stall tactic was to pose the question to her borther.  Pretty quick answer.
Time to get specific I guess.
Here's a report he recently brought home.

Yeah, sure. That's what I was thinking too.
Not sure I ever answered Zo.

Bear!

Bridging from Wolf to Bear.
Still kind of disappointed the order goes:
Lion
Tiger
Wolf
Bear

First submission to Collector's Corner

At the Science Museum of Minnesota.
While digging up some bushes along the house Mike found the remnants of a wasps nest.

This was the perfect specimen for the kids to learn about and bring in, along with a short write up to the Collector's Corner at the museum.

3500 points for the kids; each opted to 'bank it so they could buy something later. R had to ponde on that one though. They can trade it in for a variety of rocks, sand samples or for something bigger (apparently the skulls are a hot item....but cost a lot of points).  Can't wait to find more stuff to bring in!

Twins game!

Friday off in April

Time to venture out.

Wild River State Park, north of William O'Brien State park. New one for us.
