Zoe woke up first (well no, Mom woke up first, but Zoe got up first). Then Roman told me to stay in bed because they had a surprise for me.
I heard clanking. I heard someone giving someone else direction. I heard "no! you're going to spill it!". And then I heard them approaching, with this tray in hand. Roman was given delivery duty, with Zoe just behind.
Mmmm milky goodness. And the tray....where did that come from? Zoe had seen it in the drawer under the stove. Industrious.
Rather than eat in bed, I carried it back to the kitchen. Mmm grape nuts.
Later the kids graced me with cards and gifts made at school. Dad had gone to help Zoe's class with the 'super secret' clay project and apparently Roman's class had the same project. How awesome!
Cards. I love cards.
Love you bunches mon!
"I meant mom!"
I kind of like the Jamaican vibe.
Dear Mom
Happy Mothers Day!! Thank you for everything you do. I love you, Love Roman
My Mom

My Mom likes Criues Goerge.
My mom likes the color is green
"I made a mistake! I was going to say the color is green and I changed my mind!"
My mom cooks for my famly
(I love the perspective of the stove height....and the rendition of the family)
My mom likes to go shoping
I love my mom!
OH! :)
It was a rainy, gloomy day and we finally got our act together to get out of the house. What I love about our new house is that the kids can go out and play. And I'm realizing what this means. It means they are developing their own separate social circles. CRY. No, not really, but it is definitely a transition time. I don't know if I'm ready!
I'm going to make a summer bucket list - things we need to do, places we need to visit. Together. We're already hearing "but I want to stay home and play!!!"
On mother's day we went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and it happened to be family day, which is a very good time to go when you are a family.
The Habsburgs is the special exhibit (which we didn't actually see). We took advantage of the photo op spot though.
And enjoyed some modern art.
I'd promised a visit to "the dog"
And we found a Mondrian! This was an artist Zoe told us about last winter.
And I was blown away. She wanted a picture to send to her Specialist teacher...
And this just seemed like a photo not to miss!
