...with the outdoor St Paul Winter carnival activities.
Downtown St Paul is normally not....hopping, you might say. But on Saturday, before the parade (and maybe after for that matter), Rice park was packed. They, like us, went to check out the ice sculptures. Not really ideal for strolling with your toddlers. So we hung out outside of the park, and let Dad get a hamburger. While waiting, we visited a few Peanuts characters that decorate the downtown area.
Mom, it's cold. No you didn't really say that. But the look somehow conveys it. And actually it was one of the warmer days.
Miss Zoe decided she didn't want to keep her mittens on. This was the straw that broke the camels back. After staking a spot and waiting 25 minutes, we decided that maybe this wasn't the year for the winter carnival parade. I don't remember ever seeing it, but Grandma Jane reminds me that I did see one when my cousin Valerie was part of the royalty. Or running for the royalty. Or something. I have a hazy memory of it. Apparently back then the parade made it's way thru and indoor arena and that's where we sat. No more. No more.
Instead of the cold stuff we decided to activate our month year long Children's Museum pass. And my oh my what adventures that place is going to bring!
p.s. Sorry Becca, Kitty and Frankie. We jumped the gun. We all ARE going to have a play date their soon!
